About this Event

DEI Meetup: October Open Networking

This month we’re doing things differently! We continue to see a growing need for more conversations within our community. Many of us want to know what’s working in the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) space and how we can challenge ourselves to develop better strategies that impact people in our workplaces and beyond. If you’re interested in learning from and sharing tips with other DEI advocates and practitioners, join us for this month’s open networking event.

How is this going to work?

You’ll get a bunch of details on how the platform works once you’re registered. You won’t need to download any software, but for the best experience we recommend having a computer with both camera and microphone capability.

Agenda:

5:15pm- Welcome, SGO intro, housekeeping/announcements

5:30pm- 6:30pm- Open networking

Land Acknowledgement

She+ Geeks Out was originally founded on land that is the traditional territory of the Massachusett and Pawtucket tribes, and which is still home to descendants of these peoples. At this point in time, the SGO team is fully remote, and we are located across the United States. Land acknowledgements are a way for us to reflect upon the duality of our work— while we work within our team, our community, and our client organizations to promote greater inclusivity and abolish inequities, we ourselves still perpetuate and contribute to various forms of historical and present oppression. We are now operating in a virtual space, but we can still honor and name the physical spaces we all inhabit. We encourage you to learn more about the lands you are currently on and reflect on your own place in this work.
